Oh, It's Been So Long!

Ok, so my bad. It's been way too long since I have posted. I am really going to try to get back into the habit of posting to my blog each week. I think I'll start small. Maybe at least once a month! I'll try to post a challenge once a month, too.

Lately, I've been busy making cards. Here's a card that I just finished this am! I think it turned out soooo cute! I kind of scraplifted it from the book with my Doodlecharms cartridge but I did add some of my own touches. Hope you like!

A Few of My Favorite Things

I've been thinking this week about a few of my favorite scrapping things. I thought that I would share with you some of those things:
Adhesive: Tombow Permanet Mono Adhesive
Stamps: Close To My Heart
Ink: Close To My Heart
Markers: Close To My Heart & Zig
Product Lines: CTMH, Bazzill, Basic Grey, K & Company, & DCWV
Cricut Cartridges: Doodlecharms, Mickey & Friends Shapes (don't have but want to get), Animal Kingdom (don't have but want to get)

I'm almost done with my Creating Keepsakes Scrapbooker of the Year entry. I'm sure that I won't win but, wow, what if I would?! As soon as I get it sent off, I will get some other pages posted. I told my mom last night that if I am going to acheive my goal of getting published this year, I need to get to taking some photos of my pages & get them submitted. I'm going to submit to CK & to Memory Makers for sure. Possibly to Simple Scrapbooks & Scrapbooks, Etc. I don't have subscriptions to either of the last two but maybe I will if I get published by one of them.

Trying my hand at out of the box!

Our assignment for last week was to create our own background paper. That was kind of fun! I'm anxious to try my hand at some more "paper" making! Also, this week, I decided to try some of my own experimenting with the program & some of the digital elements that I've downloaded. I did make the "paper" for these pages. The ribbon is downloaded from a website. I also went out of my box a little by creating the shaped pictures.

Wow! This is fun!

I really like doing Digi scrapping. I know, though, that it will never replace my need for traditional scrapping. I think that I will continue to do Digi but probably only on a special project basis. I still just prefer the actual "hands on" stuff. I like how this page turned out and am anxious to learn more!

A New Frontier-Digital Scrapbooking

I am taking a class on bigpicturescrapbooking.com called, "Doing It Digi". I've always been intrigued by the beautiful digital pages that I've seen in CK & MM. When I saw this class available, I had to take it! Here's my first digital page. It's the opening page for an ablum of our recent trip to Colorado. I think it turned out good. I will post the other pages as I go.

Just go to http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/random_challenge/. You can then select different catagories that interest you & it will pick different challenges for you. It's really cool! Check it out sometime when you have "scrappers Block".

Here's what it generated for me & what I made. Hope you enjoy!

Provo Craft Design Team Entry

I have always wanted to be part of a design team. Provo Craft, the makers of Cricut, have 8 openings on their design team. I decided to throw in my hat with them since Mom & I just got the Cricut for Christmas. I think I did some pretty neat projects. I had to submit 5 projects which included a card, a layout, and a home decor item. Everything that I submitted I used the Cricut on except for one layout that I did several years ago. It happens to be one of my favorites, though.

This was most definately my favorite entry. It's an 8x10 canvas wall hanging. I got the idea from my friend Misty. This is the first time that I've really tried anything other than scrapping or stamping with my scrapping products. I am really pleased with how it turned out.

I'll post some of my other projects later this week or over the next several weeks. Wouldn't it be so awesome if I could get on their design team?! I would be so excited! I will be sure to let you know.
